Well the team here this week has 60 people. Then add another 10 or so just of staff members. This all equals a whole bunch of mouths to feed! Oh and this week is VBS week here at camp. So add about 70 children ages 5-18. It was a crazy Monday but it went smoothly. I was assigned to be with the middle school girls (since during the mentornship program I will be leading the middle school girls) Today the kids starting showing up around 9:30am and coming into the main area where they got a name tag. I honestly was already feeling overwhelmed of not knowing what to expect and not knowing these girls. Thankfully none of the girls ran away or threatened anyone, there were no cat fights or slander spoken. Yes, these are events from years past. And the middle school girls are the most drama focused. These girls are deeply hurting, and have so much to tell. I'm finding out that they actually have knowledge and wisdom in certain things (ex: knowing John 3:16) but do not know how to fully apply His word to their lives. Please just pray for these girls, that they would be open and understanding to hear what we have to say, and encouraging them. Also pray for the leaders, that they would be given the words to lead them to the cross.
Last night the interns and I :) went to a local restaurant called Paul's, which was Indian owned. It was pretty good, I enjoyed getting off the campsite and eating in a different environment. Emily's birthday dinner included...fried mushrooms :) she at the pterodactyl wings. Which were massive! and actually full sized chicken wings. AK had fried shrimp and fries :) I ordered the trout, which came with a side of fries as well. I feel like all I've ate is always fried. Its crazy!! We almost went crazy and ordered the frog legs for Emily's birthday, but we passed when it came to ordering. The week is going to be busy but hopefully fun. I'm doing well so far :) My birthday is this Thursday!! *Please see attached the video of Rebecca swinging very ungracfully from the rope into a freezing cold river* :)
