The eve of my 18th birthday, what a good one indeed. Woke up late for the most important meal of the day, and it was cold, resulted to oatmeal(not cold) Then went back to the cabin and wrote some letters to beloved friends and family. Around 9:30am I went and joined the middle school girls who were hanging out in the pavilion. The day involved a message about counterfeit Gods and being still and listening to what the Lord is trying to tell you. It was awesome. Lunch was good, I sat next to Emily and chatted with some of the high school students. I'm feeling a bit overwhelmed with the process of choosing the girls for this program. I didn't expect that I would have to write up an outline for future interns, and the future program. I know that God already knows who is going to be placed in this program, and that I have nothing to worry about. But I feel like if I don't know who is "right" to choose, then I'll fail and disappoint someone, like Emily, or Tammy.
In the afternoon I had the great Margaret and Bob visit me. It was so amazing to be surrounded by a familiar face, and encouraged in my walk. They took me to Paul's, the local restaurant. I ate a Bacon Swiss Burger....and man that was good! But before we ended up at Paul's, we toured the town, and not on purpose. I knew of another place near by, so we headed that way. Once we pulled into the lot (only two other cars) and walked inside, a disturbing funky aroma hit us. There was no one at the tables, and the wait staff was crowded sitting at a table chatting up on the latest town gossip. We order our drinks, Sierra Mist, hot tea (no alcohol, dry) and a water for me. Then we were instructed to "help ourselves" then with a drawn look behind, we spotted the BUFFET!!! Margaret and Bob are not "fans" of The Buffet. So we delegate, and swiftly decide to leave for Paul's. instead. Best time ever! So glad we went to Paul's instead. Always remember, no matter what town you are in, "Granny's" should never be a buffet. Can I get an Amen!? ( Birthday blog tomorrow :) My first blog as an 18 year old)

ReplyDeleteWow! "18" yeahhh for you...As YOU journey on this "road of life" YOU will have many obsticals that YOU face, sometimes YOU will have potholes, pavedroads, bumpy roads, dirt roads, smooth roads, forks in the roads, cross roads, in which all need to be dealt with at the right speed.. Sometimes YOU MAY loose focus, or just need to do a U turn and .. & there you have it YOUR headed in the right direction again, once again, going down the smooth road. Rebecca that is my WISH for you today on your 18th birthday.. Always allow our HEAVENLY FATHER to be the driver of your Vehicle and allow "HIS COMPASS" to get you to HIS Destination. (and most of all) Right on Time. For he knows all the shortcuts if he should so take them, and other times he is just taking us maybe on a little ride you could say, to see how many passangers we can pick up, along the way :) so get ready, i think he is about to STOP that bus and pick up many tired, lonley, discuraged, broken, people along your journey this summer, you just have to be obedient, allow him to WORK Through & IN YOU, so keep your seat blet on and get ready for the ride.. and dont forget to keep your eyes open to look at the scenery as your going along , you will miss to much if your sleeping! "Commit to the Lord whatever you DO, and your plans will Succeed" Proverbs 16:3 that is my wish for you in life.. YOU ARE a SWEET young Lady with SUCH a BIG HEART.. NEVER CHANGE FOR ""ANYONE"" in life i have found that the more we try to please others the less we please GOD ... He is the one one only one WHO REALLY MATTERS.. Keep on your full of GOD, so that when the day comes, you may be able to STAND your GROUND for him. Ephesians 6:13
