Please Excuse Me

I know, I missed DAY...I'm sorry. writing a blog can be such a task when your out in the woods. Waiting for your ancient dino of a computer to turn on, then letting the internet load. Its a whole process. But here I AM. :) Saturday was our day off. We finally were able to sleep in and catch up on rest. I woke up around 9:45 and started my blog. Emily and AK slept till noon. Crazy teenagers, hahah! Our plan was to go swimming in the river that day, so we got ready and headed down. Stopping and getting some lunch first. When we reached the river there were many people there. Hanging out, swimming, one family brought their grill down. We sat in a shady spot and ate. Emily and AK finished before me and went ahead in the water, they looked very touristy collecting pebbles. While sitting there the wind started howling and leaves began to blow past me. Next thing I knew huge black ants, and daddy long legged spiders ( with red bodies..if thats normal) started crawling all over the blanket we set out. I remained some what calm and stood my ground. It began to rain, so we headed to AK's H3(hummer 3) and waited out the sprinkle. A good 15 minutes later it stopped and we went back. With the handy tye dye water shoes on and ready for adventure we slide into the waters. IT WAS FREEZING!!! AK- being used to the mountain water goes in first. The water took some getting used to, but once your feet and legs get numb, you move in deeper. Thankfully no one slipped and it was really fun. Towards the end of the adventure we stumbled across a rope. It took me a fews minutes to take the leap and pull my legs up, but with AK and Emily telling me to do it, I did. Which I'm glad I did, because later I would have regreted not jumping off. Today(sunday) was pretty laid back. Went to Christ Fellowship and enjoyed it! The Taminator was there too! Its also Emilys birthday today! :) I'm getting tired easily though, and missing those fruits and veggies, I mean the real stuff, and fresh too. I know I sound picky but I like my food. On our own for dinner tonight, maybe I'll get lucky. I'm coming up on being here my second week and I'm getting exhausted. Phyically and mentally, I have this "I just want to sit around attitude" But I do what they want me to do anyways. Working for the Lord isn't an easy job.

  1. Your so right Rebecca, Working for the LORD can be exhausting & REWARDING all at the same time. It's very important you take the time to EAT his word hand DIGEST his friuts.. If we are going to have fruits of the spirt we have to stay focused and keep reminding ourselves what he went through for us. Keep looking to the Cross + because that is acually the ( bridge) to the other side. It is OUR job to take as many with us as we can...and that is why he has called you there, maybe a little out of your comfort zone, but he is navagating your compus. YOU have such a big heart and he is using you, in every situation. KEEP your Eyes & heart open, for each day is gift..as you go through your daily tasks think often of Miss Mary Baker, she had such a testomony for the Lord. Remember the story she shared with us about.. committing her whole life to the serving HIM and his CHILDREN. (at such a very young age) Working in africa in the JUNGLE! (WOW) We are so blessed to have had the privage to meet such a servantheart as her..SHE has definatley left a footstep on my heart as well as yours im sure as well.. SHE would be rooting you on 100 percent. And be sooo very proud of you :)..Remember, when you get weary he will comfort you ~ just look up! ^^^^^ I am praying for you dear Rebecca and HE is smiling down upon you.. YOU BLESS my HEART ! And its ok.. if you skip a day or two, don't put so much pressure on yourself. Just allow the Holy sprit to direct your paths, today, tomorrow & forever.. xoxo you!

  2. Wow Tammy...that was so uplifting. I too, remember Mary Baker. Even though I never got to meet her, I very much enjoyed reading her book. She truly did commit her life to serving Him and others. So I guess I will comment on the freezing cold water....if it is too cold, be careful~ you don't want to get pneumonia. Rebecca, isn't there a store nearby that you can get your fruits and veggies? Do you have a car up there? I hope that you enjoyed your day off.

  3. Once again sweet Tammy your words of encouragement lift me up. Thank you, it helps so much to be loved and pushed along to discover what He has in store for our lives. :) Love you!

Kelly-Hi :) There is a store up here, I just haven't had a chance to go there and get fruits and veggies. I didn't drive up, so the other two interns have their cars which we drive around. Someone said there was oranges and apples in the kitchen somewhere...maybe I'll do a night time raid heheh xoxo
